David Perceval is leading Vocational Service. Possible projects include:
- University College mentoring scheme
- Life After Stroke project, possibly involving Royal Melbourne Hospital
- A speaker in October on vocational activities
- A vocational visit in the Carlton area, probably next year.
Janet Ferguson is leading Fund-raising. She discussed a potential project involving a garage sale to be held one Saturday in August and called for helpers. Prakash Raniga has offered the venue and furniture items to sell. John Elligate will provide a sausage sizzle at the event. There was also discussion of potential sausage sizzles at new Bunnings stores and a Sunday lunch at Epocha restaurant.
Alan Pettit is leading Public Relations. He spoke about the need to publicize what the club does in order to get new members. He spoke about advertising material, a banner and a Facebook page. The District has offered matching funds of up to $500 for membership recruitment, which could be applied for.
Casey Tan is leading New Generations. He listed a number of youth programs the club could get involved in: NYSF, MUNA, RYLA and RYPEN. It may also be possible to partner with the local primary school where a number of members volunteer.
Prakash Raniga is leading International. He is looking for members to join a sub-committee. Ideas include DIK to South Africa and a project with Rotary in Fiji, but the details are a decision of the sub-committee.
Ian Ada is leading Membership. He will wait until we receive a talk on this topic from a District representative next week before deciding what to do.
