Dean Phelan
Dean’s book, ‘The gentle art of leadership’ will shortly be published. Much of the content is based on Dean’s leadership experiences at Westpac and by the work he did for the Churches of Christ in Queensland. During this time he was able to ascertain that despite the parlous state of the church, in terms of falling membership as well as finances, there was enormous support to be found in regional centres. In that way Dean was able to restore the fortunes of the church. Dean studied psychology and stresses the importance of charismatic qualities in leadership as evidenced by Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela
