Shail Puri- Unilodge
GUEST SPEAKER
Sahil Puri,
Residential Life Manager, Unilodge, College Square, Swanston Street Carlton.
Sahil Puri manages 1800 predominantly overseas students housed at Unilodge, situated close to Melbourne University. Most of these students attend Melbourne University and are encouraged to interact with the broader Carlton Community, explore Melbourne and experience fulfilling Australian cultural experiences.
Sahill highlighted student involvement in activities to minimise isolation and mental health issues and welcomed a collaboration of thoughts with the Carlton Rotary Club for increased Unilodge student participation.
Presently Unilodge student volunteers assist in the Annual Carlton Rotary Book Fair.
In September of this year, Unilodge students with the support of Carlton Rotary successfully ran their own in house Book Fair. The event was considered a positive cultural experience with a mutual desire to do it again on a larger scale.
