RCC-Working meeting
Key points from our Business Meeting yesterday:
- January is Vocational Service Month and Melissa and Peter drew attention to the Flyers on each table.
- Bob Slater is keen to set up Community Hubs as part of a Commonwealth funded program to support the rehabilitation of stroke survivors; more information needed. There will be a Stand at next months MD Conference at the MCEC.
3.The Vic Police-Rotary Mentoring program is being extended to include Senior Officers in the Victorian Ambulance Service; congratulations were extended to our very first Police Officer involved with Carlton in the Mentor Program almost 10 years ago-Inspector Peter Lardner, now a Superintendent and Recipient of a prestigious Police Medal in the Australia Day Awards. ( Former Vic Pol Chief Commissioner Ken Lay is mow Chair of Vic Ambulance; DGE Grant Hocking is also a Senior Manager in the Ambulance Service.) 4. A new App is being set up so that members will be better aware of any Projects worthy of support; the Board is also investigating Meet Up as another way of increasing visibility.
- David Dean raised the possibility of Twinning with an Indian Rotary Club-forming a Sister Club relationship. Alan Pettitt will follow up and report to the February Board Meeting.
