Next >

Hannah completed her schooling in a rural area on the Bellarine Peninsula, where she took up piano lessons at the age of 7, voice lessons when she was 10 and trumpet at the age of 14. Upon auditioning for a place at the Conservatorium, Hannah was offered an Ormond Exhibition Scholarship for excellence and has continued to place in the MCM elite ensembles, such as the University of Melbourne Orchestra, Wind Symphony and Brass Ensemble. In addition, she has performed with Melbourne Opera, Geelong Symphony Orchestra and toured New Zealand with the Melbourne Youth Orchestra to play with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra.

Hannah has a particular interest in chamber music, and formed the brass quintet, Kavanagh Brass, who were awarded 2nd place in the annual MCM Chamber Music Competition, performed for the opening ceremony of the MCM’s new Southbank Campus and performed at Victoria’s Government House for the Open House Melbourne event. Additionally, Hannah has a keen interest for Baroque and early music, which she frequently performs in Church services around Melbourne. Ultimately, Hannah aspires to an orchestral career, one day hoping to secure a position in one of Australia’s top orchestras.

In the 2017-2018 Rotary year, the Rotary Club of Carlton awarded Hannah a scholarship which provides financial assistance to travel to the United States of America to plan her postgraduate study.
