Claire Halliday
Claire found out that she was adopted when she was 11 sneaking through her mother bedside table draw. She found the adoption certificate. She felt she was an alien in her own home. Later, she could access the non identified information from the State and found out more about her mum and dad without access to sensitive information.
Claire was then interested to find out how we become the person we are today. Is it due to the environment we grew up in or due to the pure biology. These are questions still in Claire's mind.
She devoted the book "things my mother taught me" to find out from 19 Australian identities their reflections and personal insights on what small things shaped who they are today. She read a funny passage of a funeral planning.
In her latest book, "things my father taught me", she spoke to well-known Australians on how their dads shape their lives. She interviewed Neil Mitchell and was invited to talk about her book on 3AW. She also interviewed David Koch and is hoping that she will be invited to the Sunrise TV show on Channel 7. She read a passage on the views on war from a kid that will grow into going to war in Vietnam.
