Sue shared with us St Vincent story from humble beginnings 124 years ago to the current 27 facilities, 781 beds, 5500 staff and 53000 in patient per year with a $5,000,000 donation budget received in 2015.

Sue talked about the various program including the Life After Stroke that the club has been supporting over the years. She talked about the Biopen that 3D print an hydrogel that allows cells from a patient to increase giving great hope for prevent onset of osteoarthritis.

Sue finally talked about the treatment of neurological diseases like epilepsy with Natalie. As a worldwide first, St Vincent's neurosurgeons implanted a pump in her stomach that sends medication, through a tiny tube, directly into the brain. After a day with 8 seizures, Natalie is seizure free and can go back to work, hope to drive again and even look forward to plan for a family.

Sue left some leaflets to take home. Hot news from the 8th of July 2017, a new device developed in Melbourne that is like a "fit bit for the brain" has the potential to predict epileptic seizures.
