Carlton Junior Football Club- Aus Kick

We're also started a second smaller Saturday clinic at Carlton Primary which runs during the Carlton farmers market, where we have also run a BBQ - a great little intro to footy for families in the heart of Carlton.

And we've had some wonderful volunteer help this year.  Our administration team are superstars and we ran an intro to coaching session for parents and volunteers which got 12 along, so we now have 20 qualified coaches - this spreads the load and makes the session run really well.   See the setup in the email trail.  To cap it off, we all went along to Carlton v GWS on Sunday to be treated to a thrilling 1 point win and make it 4 from 5 for the Little Blue Army's trips to Carlton games (clearly we are the lucky charm considering the clubs form in the last 3 years!!). We also got full uniforms for our under 9s and had a run in the YJFL round robin.

We've been blessed with the weather this year and the BBQ has become the heart and soul of Auskick with everyone loving a snag and a great chat time after the session, plus we have added some drinks and popcorn options so it makes as an easy and relaxed Sunday lunch option while the kids keep kicking the footy around.  We've been averaging 200-300 sausages a week and have become so good at it, we even got invited to run a BBQ at Ikon park which raised some good money and gave our kids a game on the hallowed turf as a Curtain Raiser to - another great initiative we're entering a team in the fathers day round robin. It's all been a testament to our BBQ stars Michael 'Jakes' Jacobs and Treasurer Craig 'Lever' Leversha who have built this BBQ up over the last 2 years.

Secondly, our original BBQ is on it's last legs so we are using the $1000 Carlton Rotary sponsored this year to buy a much needed bigger 6 burner club BBQ  I wanted to keep you posted on that, if you could pass on our thanks to the Carlton Rotarians for their very generous sponsorship.  This is our last week before a winter break for School holidays until Sun July 23rd, but we'd love it if you and any of the Rotarians could come down and have a snag on the new barbie!
