Dr Clare Lin- Rotary Club of Cambridge visit
I was really pleased to head along to a Cambridge Rotary meeting today. It was great to catch up with Bob Mansfield (in the first photo) again and to meet some of the other members (including the president, Robert Bridgeman, second from the left in the second photo). They were telling me about a recent fundraiser where one of their members went for an ocean swim in the freezing February weather- brave woman! I’ll be heading back to the club to speak there in the next few months. They did request a flag from Carlton Rotary if possible- is there any chance of getting one sent over?
The new semester has got off to a busy start. I’m enjoying my classes at the Harvard Kennedy School (politics) and the Harvard Dental School. The Rwanda project is ticking along nicely and the health advocacy internship has been a great experience so far.
The association for Australians at Harvard organised another dinner for us recently. It is always comforting to be immersed in the Australian accent for a few hours! Gareth Evans was visiting at the time and it was fascinating to hear about his work in international diplomacy and the current state of global affairs.
Please say a big hello to everyone at Carlton Rotary.
