Concern Australia, a not-for-profit organisation based in Melbourne, works with vulnerable young people and children, aged 5-21, creating opportunities for them to enjoy full and meaningful lives: https://www.concernaustralia.org.au/
One of its programs, Steps Outreach Service: https://www.concernaustralia.org.au/steps/ is managed by Anne Mitchell, a member of our Club. This year, 50% of the proceeds from our annual Carlton Book Fair, 23-24 March, will be donated to this service to help homeless young people in Melbourne.
Anne spoke about the outreach provided, on the steps of Flinders St Station at night time, to help homeless young people to 'get off the street' and find safe, stable and secure housing. The Steps Outreach Service also provides long-term support through the day time to help young people to develop positive connections to the mainstream community.
