Mary & Fary have recently raised over $1million in grants in order to launch an Australian rehabilitation Centre in order to improve rehabilitation care. Unfortunately there is no single centre of co-ordinated care all rehabilitation care is ad-hoc.

Bronwyn provided an update on the World of Difference tours project that is district managed. The tours take both rotarians and non-rotarians to developing countries to give awareness of Rotary projects and how individuals can support these countries. Most support is in the form of schools, agriculture and safe water.

Rhys Watson- Chair of the Graduate Union. TOPIC: “ The Graduate Union – An International Collegium – Visions for the Future”
The Graduate Union is an association that has been around fo 105 years, Rhys believes its founders imagined a future with talented people who would lead the community.
The philanthropic element of the Graduate Union used to just consist of an annual giving program. They are now looking at this and establishing a bequest society, and considering the establishment of a foundation. The annual giving program will now be project/target based to make it more relatable.
Graduate House is the only college at Melbourne University for post grad students - there are over 40,000 students at Melbourne Uni and around 20,000 are post grads. The college wants to provide more than just a room, but a collegiate experience that supports and nutures the needs of the residents.
A master plan has been established for the future of the college in three parts. Part A is the people part, looking at how the college can develop its intellectual capital which includes its strateguc alliances with Rotary and the Variety Club as well as a reciprocal arrangement with the Kelvin Club.
Part B is the expansion of its facilities from 120 to 360 rooms by way of an 11 level building, as well as an acquistion strategty of offsite expansion which is more flexible.

Susan grew up in Whistlewood an 1870s cottage,built by the Tuck family, in Shoreham. Her parents were actively involved in the art community an often prominent artists came to stay. Whistlewood continues to be her family home as well as a gallery of indigenous art.
Thierry Demathieu
Thierry Demathieu- The Member behind the badge.
Thierry provided us with a pictorial view of his life including information about his family, his home town in France and his work.
Thierry first did work experience with his uncle who was a surveyor and it was this work experience that led him on his career path, from 1998-06 as a surveyor, from 2007-15 as a lecturer/co-ordinator at RMIT and now as the program manager at RMIT.
12 years ago, Thierry became an Australian citizen and it was one of the proudest moments of his life. He is married to the beautiful Lisa, has two children and a toy poodle and loves eating, walking and soccer. His parents visit every second year and he returns to France in the in-between years.
